A 60-year-old man, identified as M.B. from Neum, tragically died in a fire that broke out in the Gradac area of Neum. His lifeless body was discovered by firefighters on October 15, 2026, as they extinguished a blaze involving low vegetation.
The Police Department Čapljina was informed about the fire and the discovery of an unidentified male body at 12:10 PM. Police patrols immediately responded to the scene, where they subsequently identified the deceased as M.B., born in 1966.
The scene was promptly secured, and all relevant authorities were notified. This included the Criminal Police Department, the competent prosecutor, and inspectors from the Fire Protection Department (PPZ) of the Ministry of Interior of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton. They have undertaken all necessary measures and actions to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
