A quick-thinking Austrian woman in Villach averted a potential burglary Monday night when she observed a 46-year-old Bosnian national attempting to break into a neighbor’s house and promptly alerted authorities, leading to his swift arrest.
The incident unfolded shortly before midnight. The woman witnessed unknown individuals trying to force entry into her neighbors’ home. She specifically saw one man shatter a window and, realizing his intention to gain access, immediately called the police.
Police responded to the scene in record time, successfully apprehending the suspect. He was found wearing a balaclava and leather gloves. Despite the 46-year-old Bosnian citizen’s explanation that he was merely there by chance, officers located cutting tools that he had discarded in nearby bushes in a moment of panic.
The individual was immediately taken into custody, and charges have since been filed against him, according to reports from Nezavisne.
